In a remarkable display of unity and community engagement, Mr. Zahid Shakoor and his team of Elite
Group Oman hosted a prestigious welcome dinner in honor of the Chief Guest H.E. Syed Naveed Safdar
Bokhari, the newly appointed Ambassador of Pakistan to the Sultanate of Oman. The grand event, held at
Intercity Hotel Oman on 11th Feb 2025.
The event began with a recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthems of Pakistan and
Oman, setting a tone of respect and brotherhood. Mr. Zahid Shakoor extended a warm welcome to the
Chief Guest, all esteemed guests, and also paid tribute to Al Sheikh Sayed Fayyaz Ali Shah for his
invaluable contribution in ensuring the participation of senior community members. The evening was
graced by the presence of H.H Muhammad Bin Salim Al said, who attended as the Guest of Honor. This
exceptional gathering brought together Omani dignitaries and diplomates from various embassies, officials of the Pakistan Embassy, Senior community members, seasoned professionals, and businessmen. A key highlight was the presence of senior community members, an occurrence that had been long awaited and added great significance to the evening. What set this event apart was its youth-driven, led by the dynamic Elite Group Oman, showcasing the next generation of leadership in community building.
H.E. Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari addressed the esteemed guests and outlined a clear and progressive
roadmap for the Pakistani community in Oman. He emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation in strengthening bilateral trade relations between Pakistan and Oman. Urging community members to set
aside personal disputes, H.E stressed that all his decisions would be merit based, prioritizing national
interest over favoritism. His message focused on collaboration, bilateral economic growth, and the
collective upliftment of Pakistanis residing in Oman.
Throughout the evening, notable speakers including Mr. Qamar Riaz, Mr. Yousaf Mehar, Mr. Ameer Hamza and Dr. Abdul Rehman Abid shared their thoughts, emphasizing the values of unity, and brotherhood. A special poetry session added cultural depth to the gathering, while a video presentation showcased the Elite Group’s past initiatives, such as organizing the Pakistan Festival, supporting COVID-19 relief efforts, and successfully hosting the first-ever Pak-Oman Business Expo under the patronage of the Pakistan Embassy.
An insightful documentary, directed by Mr. Mohsin Sheikh, was presented, highlighting Pakistan’s
geographical beauty, trade & investment potential, and tourism opportunities. It also paid a heartfelt
tribute to Pakistan’s national heroes in science, sports, and the armed forces, culminating in a poignant
image of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, evoking a deep emotional connection with the audience
and their homeland.
The success of this event bridged the gap between different segments of the Pakistani community,
fostering a renewed sense of cooperation. It underscored the importance of unity, meritocracy, and
collective progress, setting a positive trajectory for future diplomatic and economic collaborations.
H.E. Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari’s leadership presents a new chapter of progress, and his vision calls for a
