Attock (Muhammad Aman Shuja) Former Minister Malik Amin Aslam has said that it is the first district of the Indian subcontinent to supply oil and gas for 108 years, through the 1450 megawatt hydropower project Ghazi Burwatha project. Attock is the most backward district of Punjab, the only district producing oil, gas and electricity in Punjab, giving more than seven hundred billion rupees to the national treasury every year.
We will play our part for the rights of Attock. As the people of Attock are not getting relief from the government, we have decided to go to the High Court. If successful, a new era of prosperity will begin in Attock district. He expressed these views while addressing a consultative meeting at his Dera in Attock regarding the rights of Attock. Malik Amin Aslam said that each union council of the district will get Rs 10 crore annually, which will start a new era of development in the area. The people here are not getting any kind of realty which is a complete abuse. During the previous regime, the rights and royalty of Attock were discussed in the National Assembly and the federal cabinet and the cabinet approved, but still Attock was deprived of its royalty. That the people of Attock will be given their right. If the Attock case is won, a new era of prosperity will begin in Attock. Despite giving so much to the country, the district of Attock is a backward district, now it will not be kept silent but will get this right together with the people of Attock, full justice is expected from the High Court. Attock district is providing gas, electricity and oil to the whole of Pakistan, but the people here have not been provided with relief. The people of KPK had given land for Brotha canal hey are being given their right. We have decided to go to the High Court for the rights of Attock after seeing the backwardness of Attock district. It is not our problem but the problem of the entire Attock. Gas was discovered in Pindi region, which is benefiting Pakistan, but 33 villages here are still deprived of facilities like needle gas as per the constitution.
He said that a high-level inquiry should be conducted into the corruption of two billion rupees in the Pir Meher Ali Shah Barani University Attock campus and the issue of extracting gold from the banks of the Sindh river in Attock district, یn which civil society representatives from Attock should also be included so that a transparent investigation can be conducted. He had invited all the political parties, Muslim League (N), Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan and others, but PPP participated fully. We have assured full cooperation, we are ready for the elections to be held in February.
