Honorarium for sanitation workers on duty on Eid-ul-Adha
Attock (From Hisham Khan Awan/News Editor) In celebration of Eid-ul-Adha, sanitation workers received an honorarium for their exceptional sanitation services. Local authorities distributed award cheques to sanitation workers in Attock district, as was done in every other district across Punjab on behalf of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
The event took place at a private marquee in Attock, organized by the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC). The special guest was Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza of Attock. He was joined by ticket holder Malik Hameed Akbar Khan, a former candidate for the Provincial Assembly Punjab Constituency PP-3 Tehsil Attock from the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, District President Muhammad Saleem Shahzad, Former Chairman Nasir Mahmood Sheikh, Senior Leader Sheikh Ajmal Mahmood, Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information Shahzad Niaz Khokhar, Chief Officer Sardar Aftab Ahmed Khan, District President of the Women Wing Begum Khalida Musarrat Rana, socialite Rashida Baig, and the event’s host, Manager Walid Abbasi from RWMC Tehsil Attock. Focal Person Zahir Khan, along with members of the Electronic and Print Media Central Core Committee and District Coordinator of the Pakistan Journalists Association Attock, Faheem Naimat Khattak, Chair Chief of All Pakistan Electronic and Print and Social Media District Attock, and Secretary of Information and Broadcasting Hisham Khan Awan, were also in attendance, along with Press Photographer Atiq Ahmed from the Information Department, Senior Journalists Syed Inam Ali Kazmi and Nadeem Haider, and other relevant officials.
During the ceremony, the distinguished guest Deputy Commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza remarked that on the blessed occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, the workers of the ‘Suthra Punjab’ cleanliness initiative have performed exceptionally well. Following the directives of the Punjab government, the district and tehsil administration of Attock is hosting ceremonies today throughout the district to honor the outstanding efforts of the ‘Suthra Punjab’ cleanliness workers, who are receiving cash awards from the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He noted that this year, in celebration of Eid-ul-Azha, the workers of the ‘Suthra Punjab’ program have successfully managed cleanliness efforts across the district, which is a praiseworthy endeavor. The sanitation workers have carried out their responsibilities with dedication and integrity, even in the sweltering heat, which deserves recognition. Rao Atif Raza stated that during Eid-ul-Azha, the workers of the ‘Suthra Punjab’ program diligently cleaned up the remains of sacrificial animals throughout the district for three consecutive days. We take pride in the team of the ‘Suthra Punjab’ program, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has also expressed her special appreciation for their efforts.
Deputy Commissioner Attock emphasized that everyone in the community must collaborate for cleanliness, as it is integral to our beliefs, and we all have a responsibility to raise collective awareness on this matter. During this event, ticket holder and former PML-N candidate for the Punjab Assembly, Malik Hameed Akbar Khan, along with District President PML-N Muhammad Saleem Shahzad and former Chairman of Attock Municipality Nasir Mehmood Sheikh expressed their gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for launching the “Suthra Punjab” cleanliness initiative, which has greatly facilitated the public. They commended the efforts of sanitary workers, highlighting their dedication as a crucial factor in enhancing cleanliness within the community. Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif also regarded the distribution of honorary checks to sanitary staff as a commendable action that will motivate the workers. Ultimately, as part of the “Suthra Punjab” initiative, each employee of the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) received a reward of Rs. 10,000, and checks were handed out.
