The act of tree planting ought to be regarded as a collective national duty
Attock (From Hisham Khan Awan/News Editor) Anil Saeed, serving as the Additional Deputy Commissioner General of Attock, stated that tree planting aligns with the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and is a perpetual act of charity. He shared these insights while inaugurating the spring tree plantation initiative at the Shaheed Quaid-e-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan Hockey Stadium in Lalazar Ground, Attock. The ceremony was attended by Naleen Abbas, the President of the District Youth Empowerment Committee, and other relevant officials. Together with his team, Anil Saeed planted a sapling and offered prayers.
Anil Saeed, while speaking to the gathering, stated that a large-scale tree planting campaign is being launched across the province, including Attock district, as per the directives of the Punjab government. He noted that climate change has severely affected Pakistan, particularly due to deforestation, and that the region has been grappling with a significant drought for the past seven months due to a lack of rainfall, leading to various health issues. Saeed called for a collective national effort to prioritize tree planting as an urgent responsibility to help address the challenges posed by climate change.
