As the era dominated by paper came to a close, we found ourselves enveloped by the digital revolution, which transformed our existence regardless of our preferences. The end of the paper-centric age does not imply that the significance of paper has diminished; rather, it highlights the multitude of digital advancements and products—such as the device on which you are currently reading—that have supplanted traditional paper formats. Following this transformation, various forms of media, including magazines, newspapers, and academic journals, have progressively transitioned from print to digital formats. This shift is likely to continue, with textbooks poised to follow suit in the near future.
I have engaged with computers since 1985 and have been active on the Internet since 1997. The significant expansion of the web commenced post-2005, leading to a rapid proliferation of websites. This period also saw the emergence of Urdu and other local regional websites, including several from our Attock district; however, their content tends to be somewhat similar and constrained in scope.
For an extended period, I found myself yearning for a website dedicated to exploring various subjects pertaining to the land, life, and historical context of Attock. This includes themes such as its history, civilization, environmental conditions, archaeological relics, notable personalities, and all facets associated with the region’s heritage and contemporary existence.
This website serves as my endeavor, launched under the name “Attock” and the theme “Land, Life, and Time.” I invite your support, but I am prepared to embark on this journey alone if necessary.
