Precautions need to be taken to prevent Congo virus disease
Attock (PR) It is necessary to take precautionary measures to prevent Congo virus disease. The chances of transmission of this virus from animals to humans are very high. Currently, Punjab is safe from this disease. Many cases are seen in Baluchistan and Sindh.
Deputy Director of Livestock Dr. Abdul Hameed and Deputy Director of Tehsil Attock Dr. Malik Owais Akram expressed these views. They were addressing a seminar for field staff and cattle breeders on behalf of Livestock Department.
A large audience was present in this seminar organized on the special instructions of Secretary Livestock Punjab and Director Livestock. Speakers said that this virus is found in leeches and animals and is transmitted to humans through the wounds or secretions of infected animals.The disease manifests itself between two days and two weeks. Its symptoms include fever, chills, nausea, diarrhea, muscle pain, and sometimes rash.In case of progression of the disease, anemia and severe kidney damage are also symptoms of this disease. Due to which human death can also occur, however, it is possible to prevent this disease by taking timely preventive measures.
In this regard, the Department of Livestock Punjab is providing better guidance and the field staff of the department is trying to create awareness among the remote areas and livestock rearers. People should cooperate with the department and use the services.
